Lifeboat Regatta 1999 |
The Relief Lifeboat, "Voluntary Worker" took part in the
annual Bembridge Lifeboat Regatta on Sunday the 15rd
August 1999 along with the Bembridge Inshore Lifeboat
"Criddy and Tom" and the Coastguard Air-Sea Rescue
Helicopter. This year August has been rather wet, but the rain
held off the crowd saw a fine display of Air-sea rescue
techniques, and the Historic Lifeboat "Queen
Victoria".

The regular Bembridge Lifeboat "Max Aitken III" is
away at present while the station is being painted inside, and
work is being carried out on the concrete slipway. A Tyne Class
Lifeboat, from the relief fleet, that can stay afloat is
presently on station.
The RNLI is dedicated to saving life at sea
and is supported entirely by voluntary contributions, please help
them.
